What we process

To convert a PDF we receive the file you upload and, for scanned pages, send page images to our AI vision provider for transcription. Native (text) PDFs are extracted locally without a model.

Retention

Uploaded files and the Word documents we produce are automatically deleted within 6 hours. We do not keep your document contents beyond that window.

The one exception is opt-in: after a conversion you may tick “Not happy with the result? Let us keep this PDF to improve conversion”, which keeps that source PDF past the 6-hour window for our engineers to review the conversion — nothing else, and only until you untick it.

Accounts & payments

If you create an account we store your email and a page balance. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your card details. Stripe issues receipts and computes any applicable tax.

Bring-your-own-key

If you supply your own API key it is used only for that conversion, in memory, and is never stored or logged.

Analytics

When enabled, we use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-friendly analytics service, to measure basic conversion events. We send no document names, file contents, account identifiers, or other sensitive properties. If Plausible is not configured, this analytics is off. We also use Google Search Console verification only to verify our URL-prefix property; it does not track your conversion.

Data Policy

Our data policy is simple: collect only what is needed to provide conversion, keep files only for the stated retention period, and do not attach sensitive properties to analytics events.

Free-usage limits

Basic conversion is free, with a daily and monthly page limit. To apply that limit we count pages against your IP address, a device identifier stored in your browser, and a fingerprint derived from your browser's characteristics. These are used only to enforce the free limit, never to build a profile of you.
